Dignity
Every child deserves respect, compassion and protection.
About us
Our Special Needs Unit combines compassionate care, professional support and inclusive education in the heart of Rushoroza.

Our history
The Unit began from concern for children with disabilities who were often excluded from education and community life.
Dedicated caregivers and educators, rooted in the mission of Kabale Diocese, created a place where every child’s dignity and potential could be recognised. The Unit grew to provide inclusive education, therapy, rehabilitation, practical skills and family support.
Today, St. Maria Theresa Special Needs Unit supports more than 100 children and families while helping communities replace stigma with acceptance and action.
Our direction
To help children with special needs attain formal education and life skills that empower them to participate and thrive in today’s society.
To support the all-round development of children with special needs by nurturing positive thinking, purposeful work and meaningful living.

What guides us
Every child deserves respect, compassion and protection.
Every learner has a place in school, family and community life.
We provide consistent care and support for each child.
We see potential and work toward a better future.
Faith and love guide our care for vulnerable children.
Leadership
