About us

A community built around each child

Our Special Needs Unit combines compassionate care, professional support and inclusive education in the heart of Rushoroza.

Our history

From a small response to a centre of hope

The Unit began from concern for children with disabilities who were often excluded from education and community life.

Dedicated caregivers and educators, rooted in the mission of Kabale Diocese, created a place where every child’s dignity and potential could be recognised. The Unit grew to provide inclusive education, therapy, rehabilitation, practical skills and family support.

Today, St. Maria Theresa Special Needs Unit supports more than 100 children and families while helping communities replace stigma with acceptance and action.
